Accommodating Difference

We’re here to help

We are accountants, but we don’t like to be defined by that label.  We’re human beings, so of course, we want to make the world a better place to live in.  For us and our clients.

When you look through our website, you’ll see lots of information about how we can help you with your accounts and your businesses.  You will also see reference to ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) and we take that seriously.  You could say it’s our special interest.

We believe that businesses have a duty to make every effort to be sustainable and inclusive.  We work with lots of creative people and what we’ve discovered is that we are all creatives and we are all different.

Which brings us to neurodiversity.

We’re at the start of our journey learning about neurodiversity.  Our teachers are our clients, our colleagues, our families, and our friends.  We have a long way to go, but we are ready to learn.

How we can help you

Accounts, tax and bookkeeping can all be a bit overwhelming if you don’t love it like we do and we accept not many people do.  So, if there is anything we can do to make dealing with us easier, we want to help.

Recognising that all neurodivergent people are individuals some of our initial ideas that our clients found helpful are as follows:

    • We can meet in person or online or by telephone – whatever you find most comfortable.
    • Meetings can be intimidating for us all when we don’t know what to expect, so we can provide a clear agenda on what we will discuss in concise language (concise language is hard for us, so be kind!!)
    • We can take scheduled breaks in meetings. You can take a walk around the block, or schedule to take a longer break and come back later in the day. You tell us what works for you.
    • Your business’s finances are a collaborative effort, so we will need things from you, from time to time.  We can help you to organise what and when, by using visual aids, such as charts, diagrams or interactive apps like Trello or Monday in order to keep things running smoothly.
    • We can provide clear instructions on what you need to do if that will be helpful.  These can be written, or we can record these on video if that will be better for you.

What we’re trying to say is we want to work with you and make you comfortable working with us.  But if you have some better ideas, tell us what adjustments you need and if we can do it, we will.

Are you ready?
Then let’s begin.
